SILICA FLOUR

Silica flour is finely grounded silica. It is simply made by grinding pure silica sand to a very fine powder.

Features include:

Colour: White/ Off-white

Density: 2.63 – 2.66 g/cm

Solubility: Not soluble in water or acid

Hardness: 7 Mohs

GENERAL APPLICATIONS/ USES

• Filler — in plaster and some plastics to add strength or just to reduce the amount of resin needed to fill a mold.
• Paints — wood finish, primers, undercoat, water based paints, distemper, chemical resistance coating, floor coating, extender coating and texture only.
• Construction chemicals,
• Glass manufacturing
• Rubber industry
